The FDA has approved prescription oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution 0.1%, known as UPNEEQ®, in an eye drop form that temporarily improves droopy eyelids. UPNEEQ® revitalizes droopy, tired-looking eyes caused by the upper eyelid muscle stretching over time and aging. Droopy eyelids may be caused due to cataract surgery, wearing contact lenses, or underlying medical conditions. In addition, some question whether artificial eyelashes also cause droopy eyelids.

UPNEEQ® stimulates the Muller’s muscle or the muscle that holds up the upper eyelid to work, and with a drop of UPNEEQ®, the upper eyelid raises. UPNEEQ® can work in 15 minutes or less in some instances, but in clinical trials, 75% of patients recognized improvement within two hours.

With UPNEEQ®, there is no surgery and no downtime. Just brighter, well-rested eyes. UPNEEQ® comes in a single-application vial, and you use only one drop per eye per day.

Caution! Do not use UPNEEQ® if you have uncontrolled high or low blood pressure or feel dizzy when quickly standing up.

Patients with eye or mouth dryness due to immune system disorders should be careful when taking UPNEEQ®. When using UPNEEQ®, do not let the tip of the vial touch your eye or any other surface. Each vial is for one-time use only and needs to be thrown away after applying.
